Power options (server) – use and recommendations

BlaqPanel comes with 5 power options from the General TAB in your server settings:

  • Restart (soft) – the most common and almost only one you should ever use. It’s a graceful reboot that doesn’t interrupt or force-shutdown your services.
  • Restart (hard) – only use this as a last resort, since it interrupts all services.
  • Shutdown (soft) – use this only if soft restart doesn’t work.
  • Shutdown (hard) – use this only as last resort if restart options don’t work.
  • Power On – only needed if your server is shutdown.

My tip:

  • If your server seems unresponsive, after new server order or recent reboot…maybe give it another 5-15 mins before trying stuff.
  • From Server page, click “Update Remote State”.
  • You can also go to server settings, Services TAB > CALLBACK (SERVER STATUS) and click [Run Now].
